June 25, 2023 Speaker: Craig Johnson

Scripture: Romans 8:31–32

Introduction: "What then shall we say to these things?"

Main idea: 2 gospel certainties and 2 necessary conclusions that teach us how to reason from the gospel to assurance of security for our day-to-day.

A. 1st Gospel certainty: God is for us. (v. 31b)

B. 1st Necessary Conclusion: Who can be against us? (v. 31c)

    1. 3 assurances:

        a) God's power is infinitely greater than all else!

        b) No one can succeed in their opposition to us.

        c) Anything against us will be turned by God into something that is for us.

C. 2nd Gospel certainty: God delivered up His Son for us. (v. 32a)

    1. 3 aspects of God's demonstration of love:

        a) The unique relationship between the Father and the Son

        b) God did not spare His Son

        c) Jesus was delivered up

D. 2nd Necessary Conclusion: Will He not give us all things ? (v. 32b)
