Stand Firm in the Gospel of Grace

Galatians 5:1-12

Though the Law was not intended for the Gentiles and had no power to offer them, the Galatians were being persuaded to attempt to keep the Law of Moses in order to gain a righteous standing before God. Paul argues here that if they take on the ritual of circumcision, they would be betraying the gospel of grace alone through faith alone. Adding their own effort to keep the law would expose that they had a lack of confidence in the work of Christ for their salvation.
