The Commands of Scripture
We are told in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 that ALL Scripture is profitable, and we are rightly encouraged to obey everything in the Scriptures. But there are some commands given to the church that we cannot apply directly today, such as Paul's command to the church in Colossians 4 to pray for him. How do we reconcile this? We find that, while the specific command may not directly apply to the church today, the principles behind the commands do apply, and we are bound to enact those principles.
